Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;
I heard someone say “happiness is a choice” that statement changed my life in a wonderful way through a slow process. Every time worry or stress want to infringe on my space, I quickly revert back to that statement.
Many people have a plethora of worries and situations that overwhelm them. It can come from their own issues or from people they care about. Whatever the source it will affect their physical and mental health.
The moment you experience a situation that makes you unhappy a shift takes place mentally and physically. The first to visit is worry, confusion, doubt and stress. These visitors are there to stay until you find a way to evict them. When you find your happy place it will change your attitude and actions. The happy place may not change the situation, however, it can change how it affect you.
Some of the things that make people happy are, talking to a sensible friend, watching America’s Funniest Videos, looking at old pictures, reading scriptures, watching a good TV show, having a conversation with a friend that makes you laugh, being grateful and exercise, to name a few.
I find my happy place in taking a long walk and in this passage of scripture, Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The next time you are faced with a situation that bring unwanted visitors, take time to find your happy place. You have the power to choice because happiness is a choice.
