There was a time in my life when I would buy the most expensive shoes, clothes, pocket books, and cars. I would find myself wanting the “finer things” in life because it would somehow make me feel valued. Not only did I apply this concept to material things, I would also apply this concept to relationships and dating. However, after going through multiple failed relationships, I began to question myself and asked God “Where did I go wrong”? It was at that moment that the Lord responded to me and told me that I did not know my true value. He told me that I did not understand that I was far more precious than rubies. As a result, others could not value me. Understanding this principal is simple….. If you do not know your value, no one else will. If you do not know that you are far precious than rubies, no one will treat you any different. So, what is being more precious than rubies? Being more precious than rubies means that God have given you invaluable gifts that cannot be purchased with money, riches, or wealth. These gifts are internal and not of worldly items. They are manners, morals, respect, character, common sense, trust, loyalty, patience, integrity, and most importantly love. So, I now challenge you to take inventory of your mind, spirit, and soul in order to discover your true value. And come to know that you too are far more precious than rubies. Proverbs 31:10.
